Restaurant Installation Services

Service is more than part of our name...

Food For Thought!
So, you've got the restaurant equipment ordered!... Now it's time to ensure a smooth transition from purchasing to operations!... Getting what you pay for from your installation crew is critical. Timing and professionalism is KEY to a quality and successful installation. Besides using quality components and skilled installers, there are things YOU can do to help insure the quality installation you require and should expect.

Delivery/Timing: Quality Installations BEGIN HERE. Making sure the right equipment is ordered and delivered will dramatically reduce costs and delays. WG's Services checks each carton for make/model as it is being unloaded and compares that to the master EQ list provided. We also check for damage. You will be contacted immediatly should we discover any damage or descrepencies. They say there is a time and place for everything... This is also true for equipment installations. Getting to the job site too soon can actually be a bad thing. Timely delivery helps ensure other trades are not disturbed, the location is ready to receive the equipment in regards to mechanical connections, floor and ceiling being completed and a variety of other KNOWN issus can arise, accounting for costly delays and repeat trips to COMPLETE the installation.

Access/Staging: One of the biggest issues at many installation sites is access. Making sure the equipment being delivered will actually FIT through access doors remains a very real concern. Ensuring that doors are measured and allotments are made for length/width and height of equipment. Making sure hallways are wide enough and the number of corners to navigate around are limited. Bulk and weight needs to be considered. WG's Services will do everything possible to navigate any issues, but the safety of our crews and the safety of others at the site are of the highest priority. In regards to staging, it is a very long day unloading trucks and unpackaging equipment. An area should be considered to facilitate this, allowing for easier installation and assembly by providing adequate space. This also helps other trades by keeping the installation crew 'out of the way' should they be performing some last minute critical tasks. Also keep in mind that installation may be scheduled for several days. Staging the equipment in a safe and secure location will minimize many set-backs.

Construction/Finishing: Helping to ensure proper installation can also start at the design/construction stage. Backing for wall mounted equipment should be in place anywhere you plan to install wall mounted equipment. A minimum of 5/8" plywood should be considered for ALL wall applications. Support beams, corners and 'nooks' can kill a installation project. Making sure all design and buiding components/elements are taken into consideration can save a lot of money and time.

Mechanicals: Water, gas, electricity and drains are all extremely important. Floor drains for some equipment and refrigeration. Hot and/or cold water service, gas line location and proper sizing (don't forget to order the proper connection hoses and restraining devices) all are very important components. Reviewing the spec book(s) and floor plan with the respective mechanical service installer can be a TIME and MONEY saver.

Connections/Start-Ups & Demos:  As a general rule, WG's Services does not provide mechanical hook-ups unless so specified in our bid. Of course we will be happy to assist you in making sure this aspect of work is completed. However, we do not typically have an certified electrcian or plumber on site unless so required. In most circumstances if WG's Services installed the walk-in we also bid the refrigeration hook-up, start-up and adjust... This is on a case by case basis. Demo's are typically scheduled through the equipment provider or manufacturers' representatives. Please consult them for additional information or scheduling.

Packaging/Refuse: It is commonly accepted that the packaging materials will be discarded in the ON SITE refuse container. Only in limited circumstances should alternate disposal be needed. It is assumed that an on-site refuse container will be available to WG's Services to discard packaging materials. If not, we can provide an on-site container or packaging removal at additional costs.
